Tasting Notes: Lote Magnolia hits all the right notes for a quintessential daily brew. Initial notes of rich cocoa fade into a cherry cola sweetness with a light citrus and floral finish. There's a reason we can't get enough of Lote Magnolia!

About: Lote Magnolia comes from La Cooperativa San Martin Jilotepeque (COSAMAJ). COSAMAJ is a collection of 55 farmers in the Las Magnolias area of the San Martin Jilotepeque region of Guatemala. A relatively young and new cooperative, COSAMAJ came together in 2019 with the goal to gain value and recognition for the under represented region of San Martin Jilotepeque. The producers of COSAMAJ are eager to show their hard work and the excellence they put into their coffee. They have invested in coffee plant and farm health as well as several new washing stations (one pictured) which are essential to keep their cherries local to process.

We are fortunate enough to have visited San Martin Jilotepeque and Lote Magnolia twice with our partners Collaborative Origins Imports in February 2022 and again in January 2023. Our host for our visits, Don Santiago (pictured below with his truck "El Pancho"), happens to be one of the main producers of Lote Magnolia. Don Santiago and the other producers always welcome us with open arms onto their farms and also into their homes to share a meal. At these meals, we've been able to hear their stories, get to know them, speak encouragement into their hard work, and learn how we as roasters can come alongside them best to support and give them due honor. We are thrilled and honored to share not only their coffee, but their stories and heart with our E+F family for the second year in a row.
